Inaugurated in 1994, this work by the renowned artist Michael Camilleri Curmi represents the victims of World War II and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the return of the statue of the Immaculate Conception from Birkirkara where it was held for safekeeping during the War. This memorial is of great significance to the people of Cospicua since it symbolises their determination to rebuild their city from the ravages of war and instils amongst them the unity to further enhance the dignity that Citta Cospicua deserves. |
