Situated on the façade of Caraffa Stores in Marina Wharf, and enclosed in a wooden frame, this aedicule (opening framed by two columns) bearing a cross in relief was set up by the Order in 1698 to commemorate St Andrew’s Church which had previously stood on that site. It was customary for galley crews leaving the creek to pray for a safe cruise as they passed in front of this cross.
