Kalkara Boat Yard is situated at the South part of Malta easily reached by yachts through entering Grand Harbour. Its situated at the first islet facing the picturesque old city of Vittoriosa.

Kalkara Boatyard boasts of a hard quay where boats can come alongside before laying up or tie-up ‘stern to’ while awaiting services or for work required afloat.

It’s the only yard in Malta that has a state-of-the art hydraulic low loader capable of carrying and transporting up to a 40 ton boat to the designated area (video clip to the left).

This gives Kalkara Boatyard the versatility of lifting boats from the water by a crane, able to lift a maximum of 40 tons, lowering the boat on the loader and then transporting the boat safely in the yard as shown.

Kalkara Boat Yard has acquired a wide reputation for its workmanship and we are very proud to be the leading craftsman in the laying of Teak decks. Camper & Nichlsons’ had a new teak deck on their ‘flagship’ laid at Kalkara Boatyard to mention but one of our many achievements in Teak Deck laying.

This operation can also be done ‘under cover’ as Kalkara Boatyard includes such a facility that can be set up ad hoc around the yacht in any area of the Yard.

The yard only uses the best quality teak that would have been dried and seasoned at the Yard’s premises to ensure the best quality materials.

Kalkara Boat yard offers all types of services and works usually required for the year to year maintenance on boats. These include:

The Yard can also undertake major or minor alterations as may be required by clients.

Another aspect of Kalkara Boatyard is that it can easily be reached by bus, is close to restaurants and a short walk away from the old City of Vittoriosa should yachtsmen prefer to take a stroll around.

Kalkara also offers such historic place as Fort Ricasoli that still houses the world’s largest gun ever manufactured all a few walking minutes away from the Yard.
