Palaces of Galley Captains

(Nos. 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17)

By 1664 Galley Captains resided on both sides of Galley Creek. In 1664 the Order decided that the Captains of the three galleys moored at Birgu should live in houses owned by the Order in Vittoriosa. Initially they were assigned houses in the core of the town until later they were moved to the three palaces that were built for them on the wharf.
