Underground Silos
As can be seen from 18c plans of Senglea it is evident that the silos dating from the time of the Order were sited in Triq il-Vittmi tal-Gwerra (War Victims Street), in Misrah il-Papa Benedettu IV (Pope Benedict IV Square), and in Triq San Filippu (St Philip Street) where an old Windmill dating from time of L-Isle Adam once stood. At that time a number of wheat stores were also erected to the left of the Parish Church . It appears that during the last century these wheat stores were demolished while the silos were interconnected to form part of a network of underground Tunnels and Shelters all along under the whole of Senglea.
