Situated in the middle of Għajn Dwieli tunnel, at the very entrance of Cospicua, there is a small opening hewn into the rock. Inside this opening there is a niche that encases a painting of Our Lady with Baby Jesus above an altar surrounded by four columns. Fixed to the walls on the side of this niche are a number of paintings that include that of Baby Jesus and Padre Pio, while the altar is flanked by two statues; one of Our Lady of Lourdes and the other of Jesus. During the hard years of the Second World War, masses and baptisms were held inside this opening. Among those baptised here was Vincent Balzan who was eventually to become Archpriest of Żurrieq.
